Swim Lessons and Swim Clinic Information Sheet Offered at University City Swim Club

For UCSC Members/Renters/Seasonal House Guests

Hello Pool Families. 

Welcome back for another great season at University City Swim Club (UCSC)! Our 2024 Swim Lessons (clinic, and groups) Information Sheet contains important information about the swim programming available to you and your family. Please read the information carefully. In order to participate in a swim program at UCSC, you must complete a lesson registration form and submit your payment at the time of registration. Lesson registration forms are available in the guard Office or email Debby@ptd.net. Checks are to be made payable to the Debra Brown or by Venmo @Debra-Brown-42, please ensure participant(s), session number. dates and lesson/clinic times are noted in message portion of Venmo.

There are four swim programming sessions taught by certified lifeguards, unless otherwise noted. Participants may sign up for one or more sessions.

1. Session 1 runs from June 10^th - June 21st
2. Session 2 runs June 24^th – July 5th
3. Session 3 runs July 8^th - July 19th
4. Session 4 runs July 22^nd – August 2nd

2024 summer swim programming includes:

SWIM Group LESSONS: $100.00 per session listed above per person

Recommended for non-swimmers, beginners and advanced beginners

4 X per week on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday for two weeks for 30 minutes per lesson Start times offered are, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30 pm.  Ages 3 and over, who cannot independently swim freestyle for one continuous length of the lap pool. A maximum of 5 swimmers per class., maximum 4 per class of 3-year old’s and younger.

Swim CLINIC: $150.00 per session listed above per person

Recommended for swimmers who have passed or are close to passing the deep-water pool proficiency swim test and for participants who would benefit from refining their strokes and kicks as well and enhance their endurance and distance. Ages 7 to 15 or by instructor permission. 4 X per week Monday through Thursday for two weeks for one-hour per swim clinic. Candidates must have the able to independently swim freestyle for one length of the lap pool for entry into swim clinic. Clinic shall occur with (2) lanes from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and (1) lane from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Adult Lessons/Clinic – Please see Debby in the guard office as we are attempting to organize adult lessons dependent upon sufficient interest in enrolling in adult lessons.

Junior Lifeguard – $150 (June 24th, through June 27th, 2024 or August 5th through August 8th) from 10:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday with Friday of the assigned week reserved for make ups, if needed. All participants must have a UCSC deep water band prior to attending the Junior Lifeguard class. Please bring sunscreen, lunch, snacks and water each day.  Participants must be at least 11 years old by May 2024 and/or have completed 5th grade.

Lifeguard Class – must be a minimum of 15 years of age and complete a tryout skills assessment with instructor prior to enrollment. See Debby in person or call Debby at 484-364-0927 for additional information, dates and times.

All classes are weather dependent. Weather related make-ups occur only on the Friday immediately following the cancelled class. Only management cancelled classes are eligible for make-up classes. There are no makeup lessons during the week of July 4^th. It is the participant’s responsibility to call the pool to check for weather related closures prior to coming to class. We are excited to have many staff return and to welcome new staff to UCSC this summer. Please help us continue the tradition of safety and fun at the pool by following the rules, listening to pool staff, and encouraging everyone to increase their water competency through skill enhancement and attainment.
