Swim Lessons/Clinic

Summer 2025
Hello Pool Families.
Welcome back for another great season at University City Swim Club (UCSC)! Our 2025 Swim Lessons (clinic, and groups) Information Sheet contains important information about the swim programming available to you and your family. Please read the information carefully. In order to participate in a swim program at UCSC, you must complete lesson registration on this website and submit your payment at the time of registration.
Participants may sign up for one or more sessions.
- Session 1 runs from June 9th-20th
- Session 2 runs June 23rd-7/3rd
- Session 3 runs July 7th-July 18th
- Session 4 runs July 21st- August 1st
CHILD GROUP LESSONS: $100.00 per session listed above per person. Recommended for non-swimmers, beginners and advanced beginners.
4x per week on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday for two weeks, 30 minutes per lesson. Start times are 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 6:30 pm and 7 pm. 5 swimmers per class (4 per class for under age 3).
Please choose a skill level when you sign up. Contact Debby if you have questions. Instructors may suggest moving your child between groups after working with them during the first lesson(s).
- Parent and Me - 3-months to 2 years. An adult will enter the water with their swimmer. Offered on special dates.
- Level 1 - Enter & exit water from side or ladder. Blow bubbles from mouth & nose. Submerge face, mouth, eyes. Back float & recover to vertical. Roll over from front to back.
- Level 2 - Enter and exit the water without assistance. Walk, move along the gutter or swim. Fully submerge your face in the water, blow bubbles. Kick on your front and back with or without support.Front and back float with or without support.
- Level 3 - Submerges & holds breath Bobbing up & down, 5X with eyes open. Front, jellyfish & tuck floating. Learn side to side breathing. Practice Flutter kick with board. Learn Frog, Scissors & Dolphin kicks. Push off in streamline position then frog kick. Synchronize flutter kick & add arms.
- Level 4 - Swim underwater to retrieve ring. Face first surface dive. Breath side to side, face & forehead down. Streamline into front crawl using rotary arms & flutter kick. Log roll onto back, add arms & kick into Backstroke. Practice Breast stroke using arms & frog kick on surface & underwater.
- Level 5 - Refine freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke to swim the width of the Lesiure Pool and build endurance,
SWIM CLINIC: $150.00 per session listed above per person. Recommended for swimmers who have passed or are close to passing the deep-water pool proficiency swim test and for participants who would benefit from refining their strokes and kicks as well and enhance their endurance and distance. Ages 7 to 15 or by instructor permission. Candidates must have the able to independently swim freestyle for one length of the lap pool for entry into swim clinic. Clinic shall occur with (2) lanes from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and (1) lane from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
ADULT LESSONS – Same schedule as swim lesson sessions, this season meeting MTWTH at 7 pm.
JUNIOR LIFEGUARD – $150 All participants must have a UCSC deep water band prior to attending the Junior Lifeguard class. Please bring sunscreen, lunch, snacks and water each day. Participants must be at least 11 years old by May 2024 and/or have completed 5th grade.
LIFEGUARD CLASS – must be a minimum of 15 years of age and complete a tryout skills assessment with instructor prior to enrollment. See Debby in person or call Debby at 484-364-0927 for additional information, dates and times.
All classes are weather dependent. Weather related make-ups occur only on the Friday immediately following the cancelled class. Only management cancelled classes are eligible for make-up classes. There are no makeup lessons during the week of July 4th. It is the participant’s responsibility to call the pool to check for weather related closures prior to coming to class. We are excited to have many staff return and to welcome new staff to UCSC this summer. Please help us continue the tradition of safety and fun at the pool by following the rules, listening to pool staff, and encouraging everyone to increase their water competency through skill enhancement and attainment.
